IDEAL READER

From the information I have researched into as shown above I have decided that my Ideal Reader is going to be a 17 year old girl called Haley Bennet, Who is finishing off her year in lower sixth whilst also focusing on her ongoing guitar and dance grades. She is a very social 17 year old who loves going out with her friends and partying as well as shopping and having slumber parties with all her closest friends. She has an iPhone 5s which she easily spends 30-40 hours on a week, on her facebook, instagram, snapchat and twitter apps. Regarding music, she hates to be out of the loop with the latest songs and artists, keeping an itunes account so that she can see what everybody is downloading the most, but yet then downloading the songs she wants off of her free itube app on her iPhone 5s. She has the billboard and Q magazine apps on her phone which she continues to read through in her free time.

For this task I got my results from my questionnaire on SurveyMonkey and analysed them so that I could grasp an idea of who my target audience would actually be, so that I would have an idea of how to form my magazine to stand out to them.

HOT PRESS Contents Page Collage

I realized whilst researching HOT PRESS that it is a significantly less popular magazine than BILLBOARD. The contents page images were harder to find so I found less images contributing to the contents page collage, although each of the contents pages that I have found shows a clear structure  between layout and house style, which has given me the idea to follow through with in my own music magazine.

For this task i have researched into different Billboard magazine contents pages trying to see if there was a pattern in layout and house style. From the imaged i have found you can clearly see that Billboard have used the same house style and contents page layout over and over again, making it more easily recognizable for readers.

Here I have done the same research into contents pages for Billboard as I had completed for HOT PRESS. I really like the simplistic monochromatic look of the contents page and think it will be something that i would like to replicate for my music magazine.

For this task I have analysed the contents page of HOT PRESS to see if it has followed through with the original house style of the magazine and the information it gives regarding the rest of the magazine.

Here I have done the same front cover research as used for my HOT PRESS collage except this collage is for BILLBOARD, the second front cover that I analysed. I like the House style of this magazine better as over the years it has changed with society and became more simplistic, sleek and professional looking. I also used fotor for this collage.

Here I have researched into the cover pages of HOT PRESS and found my favourite cover pages in terms of how stylistic the front cover is, giving me more ideas about the layout, main image and fonts that I could follow through and use on my own music magazine. I used fotor and saved the collage as an image to place the photos together.

my name is Alana Finn an I am 16 years old, soon to be 17. I have recently became a sixth form student and started to plan on my future. My hobbies and interests take up most of my week as I am a gymnastics leader three times a week as well as my own class, I've been doing that for a year now but I have been dancing for 14 years of my life at Lynda Wright School of Dance, which I go to once a week. Furthermore I am very passionate about art and hope to one day become an art teacher, so I have started to push myself in the right direction by choosing art, moving image arts and media studies for my A-level subjects.
